I agree. The main objective of the documentary is to get the addict(s) into rehab. If he uses the same lines all the time then obviously those lines are effective. He is a licensed interventionist, not a professional entertainer. What kind of a selfish attitude do people demonstrate when they value the "quotes of the interventionist" over the effectiveness of the intervention? That is like saying, "My entertainment takes importance over the addict's life". This show is one of the very few reality television programs that offers quality and substance.
I have just seen the mythbusters fiasco about the Hindenberg. They completely ignored the fact that the original amount of hydrogen was limited and would have been consumed completely in a few seconds. Instead they chose to feed in a continuous stream of hydrogen from an external source. Of course they would get a hydrogen fire. They were playing a hydrogen burning torch on the model. They did not bust anything but their own credibility.
I couldn't agree more. Candy and Ken are great as well and they do say the same things from time to time. Just because they repeat themselves, doesn't make the statements less powerful or meaningful. They say them for a good reason. Let the pro's do the job. Change the channel if you don't like what you hear, but they've helped countless numbers of people. Sometimes more the family members than the addicts. It's a great show and much more than entertainment.
I spent forever trying to figure out why IE wouldn't connect to my socks proxy and Firefox would. Turns out, IE only cooperates if the socks proxy is at port 8080. I was using a different port. Saw your post and it triggered the idea.
I know what you mean -- I kinda feel bad about my Tilt sitting in the cabinet, unused and unloved. I wish I had a use for it. My iPhone has some quirks of its own, but there is so much more it can do.
Thanks for visiting, and I appreciate the comment!
I have had my Tilt (original Tilt) since June 2008 and I still love it. It may have a few quirks that kinda bugged me but the overall functions in this phone make me very happy. I also downloaded Kaiser (Tilt) tweaks online and that really made this phone awesome (its a free download to). The phone is a powerhorse. I would like to pick up an i-phone someday but not today. I have checked out my pals i-phones and Im just not ready to let my Tilt go...it serves me good.
Margaret, the lady who took Peggy (and renamed her Vodka!) has given her to our friends David and Reyna and their four-year-old, Ryan. Reyna is rightfully calling her Peggy again, and we are all very happy with the new arrangement. Peggy is doing well with the Persingers, and Jessica and I look forward to visiting her often!
A reader brought something to my attention, so I thought I'd better address it:
And now that I fully realize what I've done, I can honestly say that I probably would not have done it had I known so beforehand.
When I said this, I was referring to leaving Ener-Tel. Also, this statement does not imply any level of regret -- I have no regrets about where I am now, especially after writing my latest blog entry: Without a goal, where are you?.
Yeah, we're screwed. Of course, it can go back further than this. Not all of this is to blame on the current administration. 8 years of Bush gave us the same stuff, only they pretended not to be in favor of it...
I've noticed the System.dll that was attached keeps disappearing, and I'm not sure why. Anyway, this time I've ZIPed it and re-attached, and perhaps it will stay. My apologies for the inconvenience -- I know how frustrating it can be to arrive at a solution, only to be missing a chunk.
Obtain a copy of %SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\System.dll from a non-Windows 7 machine that has .NET 3.5 SP1 installed. Copy this file into the folder created in Step 1.
In the vSphere client launcher directory, open the VpxClient.exe.config file in a text editor and add a <runtime> element and a <developmentMode> element within the <configuration> element. Save the file.

It looks as though it is very hot and obsolete. I'm thinking about experiencing it for myself. Would be an experience of a lifetime.

I'm glad to hear that my article helped! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
By the way, Dave's comment about using FoxyProxy addon instead of performing all of that configuration is what I use now -- very handy!

I can now create dynamically my combobox, but how can I set the active value to a specific one?
Reading the selected item is easy, but how can I set it, if I only know the ID and not the Value?

Yay! Again... YAY!

Wait... David made a visit on my website... WTF?
HAH! Yeah, dood, I treated myself while out here in the desert: 17" MacBook Pro. Always wanted one, and I'm very happy.
Oh, and I agree that the previous administration isn't completely clean. But the people wanted change, well, they're gonna get it alright...

Wait... "Made on a Mac"... WTF?
Now that was a "Little Johnny" joke for sure!

dll link is no longer valid. Can you add it to a zip and re post it?
You are amazing!
Here's the story: Travel, Skype and Marriage
So a story I would love to read is how you found this new job, when you never seemed like you wanted a new job.
It never hurts to be a kid again.
Thank you for publicly documenting this. You just saved me some major heartache.
