Windows 7 RC: a good first week
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Sun, 17 May 2009 - 10:54I've had Windows 7 RC installed for a week, now, and even though I only get to touch my 'puter a few hours a day, I have to report that I'm really liking it. And if I'm liking a release candidate, then the final version ought to be GREAT, right?

Windows 7 RC looks very promising!
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Sat, 09 May 2009 - 13:25Windows 7, the successor to Windows Vista has been in the works for several months now. The release candidate was available for download from Microsoft a few days ago. There are unlimited downloads and anyone can get a key. The operating system is not gratis, though -- the license will be good until June 1st, 2010, but Windows will begin shutting down every two hours on march first with a repeated notification set for two weeks before that.

The computer, demystified
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Wed, 17 Dec 2008 - 01:16I've been working on computers for over eight years. In those years, I have gone from being lucky at assembling old parts to make a PC all the way to engineering entire voice and data networks. Simple tip keeps Windows Vista from being annoying
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Wed, 12 Nov 2008 - 16:01Hey, Vista users! For simple users, perhaps they need this assurance. But in-control gurus need this "feature" to go away. Read more »

I want a Mac
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Sat, 17 Nov 2007 - 00:44God, I want a Mac so bad -- or, at least I think I do. The last Mac I touched was in 7th grade, and it was an Apple Macintosh. But the more I fool around in Windows Vista, the angrier I get with PCs in general.
