Lubbock
Writers' block (sort of)
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Wed, 14 Jul 2010 - 12:02I haven't written anything in many months, and I know that. After I returned from Qatar, things got busy with getting back into my groove. Also, the wedding was approaching, and so was the long-awaited honeymoon cruise. June marked the first moments of normalcy, which hadn't been since early 2009 (just before I left the country).

Without a goal, where are you?
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Thu, 03 Sep 2009 - 13:50I've reached a revolutionary point, recently. Ever since I left active duty, I've done fairly well. Certain things during that time required help from my family, but overall, I'd say I was a far pitch from doing poorly. But something felt... missing. Hmm, well, it was easy to ignore -- especially during my time at Ener-Tel.
During the past couple of weeks, my mind would return to this thought, and I couldn't help but put some effort into figuring it out. Hmm...

The knot has been tied
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Mon, 30 Mar 2009 - 20:14
Well, Jessica and I snuck off to the courthouse and got married. However, the wedding has not been canceled, but more on that in a bit. We ran up to the Lubbock County Courthouse, and in the presence of our parents, we were married by Judge Jim Dulin as it snowed outside.
Why? Well, since I am leaving the country for a year, I wanted to make sure Jessica had all the legal rights that I already trust her with; I didn't want something to come up while I was gone that she couldn't handle. It wasn't a rash decision, though -- we were merely fastracking an existing plan.

Jessica's birthday is today, but we had a little celebration over the weekend while visiting family in Lubbock. I was happy to give her a laptop as a gift -- something that she's wanted for a long time. Read more »

A wedding is in sight
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Sun, 19 Oct 2008 - 21:53
We've just returned from a short weekend in Lubbock. The whole purpose of the visit was for Jessica and her mom to go look at places and things, so I stayed with my folks and hung out.

Melba has left us
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Mon, 01 Sep 2008 - 23:42
It saddens me to inform you that Melba, Jessica's grandmother, has passed away. Jessica was informed on the morning of Wednesday, the 27th, that Melba wasn't looking too well and that she may not make it through the day. Jessica rushed to Lubbock, but made it just moments after Melba had passed on. Read more »

In-wall speakers in Sam's Easter basket
Submitted by Matthew Clark on Mon, 24 Mar 2008 - 20:11
This weekend was a good one, especially for Sam. Each visit to my parents' place yields some task being completed by me. This time, I installed a 5.1 arrangement of in-wall speakers for Sam's home theater system.
