Wow! A case study of one of my projects

Moments ago, I stumbled upon a case study that I helped write over a project in which I was the software programmer (Brian Miller was the engineer and Trey Mayfield was the project manager).

Read the case study here: http://hpac.com/mag/facilitys_upgrades_keep/

This was my flagship project during my nearly four years at Ener-Tel, and the one I'm most proud of because of the level of control I was able to achieve with the system. Not to mention, the complete lack of service calls since the job was closed.

Sorry, I had to gloat just this one time...

I had this dream

I woke up to my alarm clock, but with a strange dream still fresh on my mind -- so vivid, clear, and distinct. For the first hour or so after awakening, the feelings were so strong and I couldn't shake it, and I kept pondering it's meaning.

Farewell Video

This is a comedic video I made as a farewell to my co-workers at Ener-Tel. Many of the skits won't make sense, but this was just for co-workers. As it turns out, it has become slightly popular, so I've posted it here for family, friends, and co-workers to access it easily.  Read more »

Well, folks, I'm going away.  Just for a year, though, to QatarGeneral Dynamics, one of the largest defense contractors in the world, has offered me a Systems Administrator position at the Al Udeid Air Base, and I took it.  If you ask anyone who's in a position to leave home for a year, they'll have their price.  Mine was far exceeded.

This news is a week old.  I was contacted by a guy I worked with while I worked at the Air Intelligence Agency during my enlistment in the Air Force.  His name is Erwin Miranda and I received an e-mail from him via LinkedIn.  I remembered him right away, but I was curious: how did he find me?  It's been about five years since then.

I've finally done it -- I've installed an Ener-Tel security system in my home! Because I work for Ener-Tel, I don't get the same $99 special everyone else gets. I can't tell you the reason because that would be revealing proprietary company information :-). But I can tell you that I finally got all the parts and got signed up for monitoring. Read more »

Big Changes at Ener-Tel

For the past few months, I've had plenty of ideas or events to write about. But perhaps I am lazy. And I shouldn't forget that this website isn't necessarily for you, the reader, as much as it is for me. I enjoy coming back and reading my own stuff, and being lazy deprives me of that. But if ever there were a time to write an entry, today would be the time.

Weekend with Jessica

I invited Jessica to the Ener-Tel Christmas Party a few weeks ago, and she was excited to have been asked. I didn't realize it was that big of a deal to her, but she made it clear she was happy that I even considered asking her.
